i am helping a friend try to see if a motor in a truck he has acquired is any good. i promise, nothing illegal. the truck is a '96 freightliner fl60, with a 5.9 and inline injection pump. the truck is a 6spd. unfortunatly, the truck was seized due to back taxes and then auctioned off without a key, and was bought by him. i would assume, like my '92 12v, you need minimal electrtical inout to make the truck start.

12v to starter and to the fuel solenoid, right? i am generally a first gen forum guy, but i ask here b/c the engine has the inline pump.

All you need to do is tie the shutdown solenoid in the upward position then short inbetween the small and large connectors on the starter motor.
Make sure it's not in gear!
