Starting problem when hot
A few weeks ago I replaced the fuel shut-off relay after it would not start. That fixed it for the last two weeks and starts great cold or hot . Now it will only start just when the motor is cold. If I drive it and get it warmed up it will not start unless I open the hood and manually push up the fuel shut-off solenoid rod and it starts fine. What could be happening? Thanks, Sonny

Perhaps you have a poor connection in the female part of the reoay plug, or the power wires on the battery are getting hot and causing a high resistance connection????

More than likely replacing the solenoid wasn't the cure, moving the wires around to do it was. Most likely with thermal expandsion an open wire is created. Another cause could be your solenid relay is giving up when hot.

OK, today I got her hot and would not start. I popped the hood and moved the wires around where the harness that plugs into the fuel shut-off solenoid is. Now she fires up every time hot. I wonder whats going on? All the wires look fine. Why does moving them make a differance? Should I now zip- tie the harness down real solid? Thanks, Sonny
