Stalling When Cold....??

Stalling When Cold....??
My truck stalls out when the engine is cold and the temps drop below 50F or so.
The truck starts right up and the heater grid appears to be working fine.
It's just when I come up to stop signs/traffic (when the engine is still cold) that the engine stalls out.
This is a REAL PITA.
After the engine warms up (5 minutes or so). It never stalls out. ONLY when the engine is COLD does it do this.
This problem worsened after a 3KGSK was installed.
What do I need to do to correct this issue ?

This is very common with a 913 pump and GSK installation. If the idle speed adjustment doesn't help you can try changing the governor spring tension.

Had the same problem in my truck and it was the torque converter not disengaging and stayting locked up in which nearly stalled out the truck. New tranny and torque converter and no more problems.

I was thinking to loosen them. The spring tension should be snug plus 2 clicks. Many 913 pumps had very tight stock springs.

Try tightening the springs a click or two. Your idle will come up when you tighten the springs. I would go a click and readjust your low idle screw till your happy. If you tighten your springs too much though, you engine may hang at a high rpm instead of coming down when you get off the throttle. You know you have gone too far.
