Stalling on inclines/higher egt's

Hello, I have a question. I have a 1995 dually, with a full banks kit for that year, the rebuilt auto trans was dropped in about 65,000 ago. I bought the truck from a friend who was using it for work, it had a 4:10 rear end from the factory and he had it changed to a 3:55 . He said that before he had it changed it had little turbo lag and it pulled like an ox. After he changed the gearing it was better on the freeway. Well I have had the truck stall out on me several times, the first was pulling an 18,000 pound trailer up a very steep dirt road i didn't get a good start about a third of the way up the truck bogged down and stopped. All of the other times I parked the front end of the truck over the side of a dirt embankment I've tried to back out and the tires don't spin the truck just stalls. I was starting to think it was the gearing but I started reading specs and saw the 1995 had a 3:55 option from the factory. Now i don't know what the problem is.

My second question is i warped the head several months back. I pulled it and had a valve job done. I put it back together and my Egt's seem to be running higher. The highest I've hit is 1250 but I consistently hit 1100 mark, This is empty. I'm worried when i pull a heavy trailor I'm going to go way over that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

If it has a cat it may be plugged and need eliminating.

How did you warp the head?
It could have caused more damage than you think.

stalling could be low fp.just a thought on the high egts, after the head swap, make sure you dont have an exhuast leak, and that your inter cooler boot camps are tight, intake horn has a gasket and is tight, same with the intake, make sure no bolts are missing.

I warped the head driving up the cajon pass near my house last summer. i was talking on my cell phone not paying much attention to my gauges. I started to hear a strange noise from the front end of the truck looked at my gauges and the temp was buried in red. When I pulled over I could hear the engine sizzling from the heat. Heater would not blow hot air. They tested the block and it was inconclusive, at the time.About six months after that the head gasket started letting water and oil mix in the block. I pulled the head had it tested for cracks had it shaved and a valve job done. The truck had the problems on the hills prior to that though. I have a banks monster exhaust on the truck I dont think it has a cat on it any more....but i will check and let you know.....thank you for the help.
