Solved starter problem
Busy as can be this summer, had to replace clutch then next day getting starter problems, just clicking. jumped wires and all looked good, started every time when hooked to charger so replaced batteries (2 different ones were in there anyways) truck was fine again for one day. pulled starter this morning seems ok on bench, more wiring, relay checks, ect. can't figure it out. go back in barn to stare at starter and scratch my head and then I see it, right there on the side of the starter "MADE IN CHINA". apparently previos owner had replaced starter with cheap rebuilt.
I can't afford much but I want to get a decent starter in there. Can I get one at napa. one parts house here said $219.45 for rebuilt with lifetime warranty. can I trust that?

I have put 1 Napa brand new unit in and have another one setting waiting for Greenie. 235 bucks brand new, no core, lifetime warranty. they also wanted 219 for the rebuilt........but why?
You might be able to just replace the starter contacts with the oversized ones.

Not sure why but it's good the Napa starters come with a lifetime warranty, they don't last like the OEM.
Perhaps they come with with undersized contacts.
You can get an OEM starter or everything you need to rebuild one here> Larry B's
Larry says,
"We no longer supply aftermarket starters because of unreliable quality from the manufacturers."
