smoke at WOT
I was going to work this morning, "in quite a hurry", when a buddy of mine was following, i noticed that when my foot is in the fan, there is alot of smoke behind me. The afc, as well as the stock plate, are slid all the way forward. The starwheel is four to five rounds from all the way. Does this sound normal, or am i over fueling at WOT?

Try backing that "star wheel" off some and see if that helps any. If not and you don't like the smoke, you may need to slide the AFC back some too.

Fill out your sig so we know what your runnin'..I thought the AFC and starwheel are for low end fueling and have no effect on running WOT ?? Is it black smoke?
I have a custom ground plate all the way forward as well as the starwheel and AFC full forward and NO smoke at WOT..

Either too much fuel or not enough air.. maybe even both! ;p
Youre probably hitting the wall on boost the turbo can provide inside its map.
the plate position and pattern controls fueling up top. You might want to slide it back, get a less aggressive pattern or add some air with a new turbo. The AFC handles mostly off-boost fueling and is pushed out of the way as boost rises which is what the star wheel adjusts. It will help power and spooling on the low end at the expense of some smoke that you can adjust away some of.
Larger injectors will boost fuel across the band. Idle will be smokier with most of them.

I have my truck setup the same, stock plate full foward and afc forward, star wheel cranked 2 turnss from front maybe. Mine smokes pretty good, but only until I get good boost. The only thing different is I blocked off the wastegate so I could get more boost. I can hit about 32-34psi boost now. If you wastegate is still hooked up you will only get 22psi. You probably need more air.

Just remove the Tee fitting in the AFC, and screw in the AFC signal fitting, so you bypass the wastegate signal line. Then you'll get more boost. With the stock plate in there, the stock turbo should be adequate.

I turned the starwheel back bout two more rounds, plugged the waste gate, and most of all. I cleaned the dirty air filter. Could'nt find anyone to try and pass me this morn, so i'll check it out later. Thank's
