Question Sliding the plate?

Was wondering what you guy's mean when you talk about sliding the plate? I now it is a cam plate adjustment just wondering about the lingo and what it means?

I believe it is the fuel stop plate.

The mounting holes on the plate (under the AFC housing on the injection pump) are slotted. By removing the housing and loosening the screws on the plate you are able to SLIDE the plate forward or backward on the screws. Usually the SLIDE is towards the front of the engine (forward) to increase the amount of fuel delivered. Everyone always says to mark the stock location on the plate so you will always have a reference to the original setting position.

I have slid my plate all the forward and it seems to run a little stronger with no real increase in smoke......Yet!!!

Injector Jack, play safe and have a pyro gauge before sliding the plate forward. Increased fueling means more heat.
