Silencing Turbo bark, whine, & big air intakes
A previous owner installed an AFE intake and big exhaust on my 1997.
I can hear the the turbo whine all the time, and sometimes I get turbo barking on rapid deceleration.
I dont drive it hard.
I dont care for the hollow sound of the big exhaust and the constant high pitch whine. The turbo bark sometimes happens when it is revving high and then shifts (auto) on a steep hill.
The turbo silencer ring is still installed.
I think the stock air box would reduce the bark and whine, what do you think? Any other ideas of how to quiet this thing down a bit?
Im thinking of trying to add another square filter over the opening of the AFE box since I dont have the stock air box anymore....would that help?
