Shutoff solenoids

fter pulling my shutoff solenoid because I thought it was bad, I noticed it looks alot like one I see daily on some of the equipment I work on.

Luckily mine wasn't bad and it was a relay insted, but I pulled a new one off the shelf at work and priced it, $65 customer's price, which includes our dealer's 33% markup.

I know, theres a fairly strict policy about naming vendors, and I'm new here and don't want to rock the boat.

So...either through a P.M. of if the Mods say it's ok, I can post where to get one anywhere in the US and the part#.

The only difference I have found is in the plug, and anyone with some decent skills should be able to change the plug over.

I thought I could save some money using the solenoid Case uses on their tractors.
Looked the same except for the plug but the shaft throw was shorter, wouldn't work.

Do you remember what the shaft throw was for the CTD?

Fully extended the shaft sits out 2.5-2.6" from the mounting surface

Retracted, it's out 1.5" from the mounting surface.

I have modified one and installed it now, just to be sure of my findings, and it's working for me.

I'm all ears.
