Rough Idle and White smoke

Rough Idle and White smoke
Im getting rough idle and it will smoke a puff of white then clear up in a second.
Here is what i have done to attempt to correct this problem:
1.)Timing was set @ 17* and then checked again a bit ago
2.)Fuel Heater was removed and o-ring was replaced
3.)New rubber fuel lines from the tank to the pre filter
4.)New Vulcan Pickup tubes
5.)New prefilter and filter
6.) Pressurized the fuel system @ the tank and check for air leaks from the tank up.
I have a slight seepage around the #5 injector, and my truck uses doesnt use oil or coolant? Any ideas? MPG is 16.68, and the truck runs good just idles rough and puffs white smoke on takeoff after idling for 3-4 minutes or longer. Im becoming frustrated and just want to get it fixed

Might want to check the injectors...when its doing this crack each line at the injector and see if you come up with bad injector (idle wont get any worse or just slight change compared to others)

Does that sound like it could be a bad injector? I have never checked the injectors before, so when you say crack the injectors you mean slightly open the line at the injector and listen for changes in running engine.

Yes timing is not the problem, anyone else want to chime in, injectors are pretty much the only thing i can think of
BTW: on top of the list above, i also have done an overflow valve & NEW lift pump.

If you've changed injectors before you could knock them out in about 1-2 hours...1st timer about 2-3 hours as you figure things out...try to find some new injectors or rebuilt...Used injectors may go out on you just a few miles down the road unless you send them to a shop...did you try checking the injectors yet?

You could try a set of the 300's and not hammer on her to much...

Yeah i dont really want to push to much fuel with my timing at 17 degrees and risk blowing a stock head gasket, even though a highly reguarded performance diesel shop near me says it will be fine. Is there a huge difference between 300's and 215's? I have a 10 plate slid slightly foward.
