Arrow Replacing Trans Lines.. use OEM or aftermarket parts?

I have been searching this subject for quite sometime now.
I just got a Goerend trans / TC installed and noticed my trans lines are leaking alot up near the front of the truck. Right between the radiator and the front of the oil pan.

I was thinking of just replacing both lines as they have the older recalled plastic connector clips....

The OEM replacement updated parts are pricey (around $350 for all of it) and for that kind of money I was thinking I could get a better setup... I hear DDT has a steel braided setup? Or what are my other options?

Last thing I want to do its leak all my tranny fluid out.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving... & thanksforgiving me info!

Quite a few people have replaced their lines with hydraulic hose.
Just need to measure the lengths and figure out what kind of fittings you need on each end.
Pressure in the lines is very low, the lightest hydraulic hose will work.

Thanks for the info infidel

Time for me to start searching on 'hydraulic hose' / 'hydraulic trans line'

To anyone who has replaced their trans lines with hydraulic hose:
Where did you get it from? Part #'s? How is it holding up?

I changed mine w/NAPA transmission hose. Just go in and ask they should know what you need. Two years and no leaks.

Napa also carries most of the steel replacement lines, cost is around 300 for all.

If it is just the rubber lines that you to replace, there is sometimes a way to lower the OEM cost.
Ask the parts guy if the recall kit for the V-10 gasser is available. Same lines. Recall kits are normally less than ½ price of buying the parts separately.

Well I'm going to end up ordering Mopar part #52028674 & Two #118752 from moparpartsamerica.com

For now I found the exact leak

Where the trans cooler lines run next to the engine oil pan, one of them rubbed on the line enough to cut it. It was a very small hole... and could have been repaired if the line was removed from the truck. (Should have went this route)

Before thinking I cut the small section of tubing out and replaced it with 6" of rubber fuel hose 1/2" ID w/ 2 hose clamps. I also slit another piece of 1/2" rubber hose and zip tied it around the inner side of the replacement hose so it shouldn't rub thru quite as fast.

Very common for the lines to rub a hole in that spot.
I've heard of folks doing what you did to protect the line to actually fix a leak.

I had the same leak. I cut back about ½-1" of the rigid line and used a ½" steel compression union to repair. Bought a new rigid line (#52028674) it hangs in the back porch after 3 years as the compression union is still holding.
The flexible lines (#118752) used to be available under the V-10 repair kit for recall #97V084
