Replacing flywheel bolts?

Replacing flywheel bolts?
After 117,000 miles my 5th gear let go! I have never towed anything and don't lug it in 5th either, but it did see allot of full throttle driving! So, now I am in the process of repairing my 5th Gear with a fully splined main shaft and installing a Southbend clutch while I am there. The service manual says to replace the flywheel bolts after removing them. Why is this? Is this worth doing? Somehow, I feel most people just throw them back on! Thanks.

Re:Replacing flywheel bolts?
In order for a bolt to do it's job it has to be stretched, like a twisted rubber band. After that abuse it gets hammered by your right foot, then it is removed and I would want my flywheel to come off, because the bolts were too weak to do their duty. I sort of over done it but you get the idea, that if the engineers say they need changed, I would.<br> Tony
