Reading up on the swap

Reading up on the swap
I have been reading extensivley on the auto to 5spd swap I am going to do.
I found a great deal on a 2000 2wd 3/4 ton gas w/a 5spd. I bought it for the body. Mine is shot. I plan to use the entire body from it.
I would like to know if I can use the clutch master and slave cylinders on it.
Also would like to use the center floor consol. It has the opening in it for the transfer case shifter. I assume that is what the big opening is for on the side. I have read that the xfer shifter is different on post 98 trucks and there are some conflicts on retaining the earlier style 94-97 xfer shifters. Would it be better to get the post 98 xfer shifter?
Also, I am wondering about the pilot bearing for the trans input shaft. Is it in the end of the crank or in the flywheel?
Found alot of fixes for the wiring.
Am also wondering about the tranny. I know I will need a new input and out put for the tranny as well as an input for the xfer case.
Is the output shaft swap in the tranny a big deal, should I just get a tranny set up for the diesel.
Thanks to all those that have posted their experience.
