Questions from a begginer ?

Is taking the AFC arm out worth it ? or Is tuning it with the starwheel more efficient ? And the only fueling mods i have is the #0 plate ? what would be the next best move, GSK ? Injectors? Delivery Valves ? I have a HTT 62/14 and im tryin to fuel it ?
Any Suggestions ?? Thanks !

4k gsk, take the plate out and loosen the starwheel, ALOT. you will never overfuel the 62/14 with stock sticks and DVs. If you have money DDP2s would be good and possibly some 191 DVs. with timing, that would put you around 380-410hp depending on tuning. you running a stick or auto?

I ran a gutted AFC for quite a while. Could drive it smoke free, and was fun to be able to smoke on command, but tuning the AFC is where its at. Either loosen the star wheel, or get an AFC spring kit and put the medium spring in. With stock sticks, the lighter spring will work well. When you get bigger sticks, I'd put the 215 AFC spring back in. Bigger injectors won't require nearly the pedal to deliver the same fuel as stock injectors. I have the AFC on both my trucks almost all the way back to keep from dumping too much fuel off the get go. You'll put out the fire and the turbo will lag big time because of it.

I like a well tuned AFC. Once you get the boost, it backs out as if there was none so you get full fueling.

I don't recommend GSK in the 913 (96-98 manual trans) pump. Stock they normally fuel past 2,500 rpm and rev to 2,900 - 3,000 rpm and the driveability is very nice. Adding a GSK and it takes a lot of time & patience to get it tuned again.

Delivery valves not required this early in the game. You already have good sized ones in the pump.
Get a nice set II or Scheid injectors to fuel that turbo and then you'll be looking for a dual disc clutch.

edit: fixed text

I will disagree with you on that. Not sure if my 12v has the 913 or 887 pump, but regardless, its a 215 pump. It would rev to about 2900 rpm, but after 2200-2300 would fall flat on its face. GSK made a big difference in how it fuels.

Each pump is different. Best to map it out on a chassis dyno and see where the fueling cuts back.
I've found the 96 & 97 manual tranny trucks had a good reving pump.

Did you have to set the spring tension a few times to get the GSK tuned? Do you have the harsh throttle flutter in the 900-1,300 rpm range?

Sorry im way new to this? What is the spring tension? And how do you "tune" the GSK? And the pump and power seem really smooth and pulls really hard till about 2500 rpms ?

Yea, messed with it a bit when I put it in. No flutter.
