A Psssst noise

Im getting a Psssst noise when i take off from a stop the noise starts at about 1700 rpm and last about 1 to 1.5 seconds. The overflow valve is about 1 year old. Any idea what that noise could be? It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side. If i rev it looking at the motor the sound seems to be coming from the injection pump? Anythoughts?

Intercooler boot

Check your inter cooler boots. Just had similar problem, truck make a SSSSHHHHHHHH sound under acceleration, thought clutch was going out, ended up being a intercooler boot with a hole in it. Check the lower ones espically, they rub on innner fender well. Just a thought. I ended up getting all 4 new boots, stylinmotors.com. good price, nice colors, good product.

Check that the line to your boost gauge isn't leaking at either end or has been kinked in the middle causing a leak.
When the line has a slight leak you often can only hear it at certain times.

Another question

Yea that makes sense, ill check for a boost leak on the boost gauge line. I have a rough idle situation and a local diesel injection shop said it sounds like the a valve train issues, my valves have been adjusted and they are in spec. Any suggestions on how to diagnose this, Infidel, or anyone?

Thanks,
Dave
