Prefilter Kit Not Available?

Prefilter Kit Not Available?
I bought a bunch of stuff at Cummins Metropower in NYC this morning but the parts guy said that the part number I was giving him for the Fuel Strainer Screen Kit was no good. The number I gave him was 3845400S which I'm sure is the right number for the kit but it wasn't coming up in his system. Has anyone else run into trouble trying to order this lately? Does anyone have a place they'd suggest I order it from if they still can't figure this out at Metropower tomorrow? I'd rather not pay $42 for it from Dodge when its only $6 from Cummins.
Thanks.

I saw that, thanks for the info. The weird part is that the fuel filter that I bought from them was a Fleetguard and the guy said that they stock Fleetguard stuff since Fleetguard is now owned by Cummins. I'll talk to him again tomorrow and if he can't figure it out I'll call the number up. Overall I was really happy with the way I was treated there and the parts guy (Isaac) was very happy to help.

i found it bizare about the cummins fleetgard thing too. If you walk into a fleetgard store, they will know what you want right away.
fleetgards website is lousy as far as finding your local store. you have to call and get a human being on the line.

Yeah, their website is awful. Like you said, its the WEIRDEST thing that this HUGE Cummins/Fleetguard dealer has no idea what I'm talking about and if I go to fleetguard.com it re-routes me to cumminsfiltration.com.
Thanks again, I'll call that number tomorrow and find out where the nearest one is to where I work.

Same thing happened to me when I had to replace the fuel heater. Seems like one hand has no clue what the other hand is doing.
I have a Cummins parts place 20 minutes from my house, if its anything but filters and normal everyday stuff, they are clueless. I have to call the Cummins part place on the other side of the state (which is owned by the same people that own the one near my house).
I order from them with no problems, then they post the order at the place near my house and it gets filled.
Turns out the guys at the place accross the state all drive Dodge/cummins and know the product line better than the guys near my house. Talk about about a pain, but at least it works. KD

I got one from the Cummins Dealer a couple months ago. Package does say Fleetguard and it is the same part number you had above, just has two more zeros in it: 384540000S IIRC it was about $6-8, sure beats paying the Dodge dealer.
