hi ya'll i was wondering if there is any way to make a po-boy exaust break?

 

Far as I know, it's either pony up for one, or install a lockup switch if you have an auto.

 

I've seen some specialty autoparts catalogs offer a tee with a cable operated butterfly valve made so a guy can switch from exhaust going though a muffler to a straight pipe. Always thought there would be no reason one couldn't be made into an exhaust brake.

 

Primal13 pm me with your truck info (year, trans) I might have an old used fixed orificed brake kicking around, we can see what kinda killer deal I can make for you.

hey harold i don't know how to pm. it's a 98 12v 5speed 4x4. it took me a week to figure out how to post a thread. danm evil tvs. infidel i had a similar idea, have a straght pipe with a muffler hooked upto the side like a bypass,have butterflys on both ends. close the staght pipe off in citys or near cops,or you could close the muffler off at the front and the straght off at the back closing the whole system. i'll have to ask my friend if she can get a picture on here i got a drawing with this on it. in theory it looks good. in theory
