p7100 Valet Switch

Looking to upgrade a p7100 pump and saw a couple of companies ie Piers and ATS make a valet switch for their pumps. From my understanding you can either have that valet switch on which turns the upgraded p7100 back to a stock pump or have it off and it runs as a upgraded p7100 pump. Is that right? Also does anyone have one of these valet switches and what does it do for MPG???

The valet switch is only a blocker for the AFC boost signal. So basically with the valve/switch turned to the block position, the pump runs on the current AFC setting. This can still be as much as 400 or more HP depending on delivery valves, AFC setting(s), Governor setting and of course the other stuff like injectors and/or turbo.

The valet switch is really only good to tune it down for others to drive or if you are caught blasting out soot clouds by the local PD..

I always drive my 98 with it in valet mode, because I get 2mpg+ better in-town that way: 17.5-18mpg in-town, 21mpg on hwy trips.
If I drive it around in full-tilt mode, then my mileage drops to 15. Also the driving reponse is better in velet because I have so much fuel. Way too touchy and jumpy in full-tilt in daily commuter traffic.

But my 95 doesn't have one...yet, anyway. So far it's still happy with the fueling, and the mileage is great.

Most guys running valet switches are running big sticks, or DVs, so they still have some power with the switch.

I run a homemade valet on my '97 w/ a 100 plate. In valet mode it feels like a stock 215 truck, drives great and keeps me out of trouble I like being able to turn my power/smoke off and on as needed.

It's pretty easy, you need to put a shut off in the line, some guys use a soleniod, some use a valve. I am curious who has done what and how they like it.
