p7100 ??'s
i'm trying to find out why my '96 3500 5-spd will run from 0-60 WAY faster than my '97. the '96 has a banks powerpack.on the highway the '97 is unbeatable, but take-off is much slower.no intercooler boot wear that i can see or hear...but what about the tube from the pump to the intake ? i have no idea what this does but i am blowing smoke at 2k+ on load. mileage on the '96 is about 20 m.p.g. as the '97 has never gone over 16 ???
any help on this tube and or other reasons would be a GREAT help.
thanx,
Ryan g.

Check your AFC signal line taking off and on the AFC hsg can pinch or create a boost signal leak to the AFC. One way to eliminate the AFC altogether is to take out the AFC lever, and from what I understand that is completely reversable if you want to run the AFC again. No AFC creates from my understanding full boom right away. I've not tried it yet but my brother did it with his truck as well as his bosses truck. I made my bro's boss a "custom" plate (that you'll soon see, pat pending) and after the install it just wouldn't do what the #100 did for him. My "custom" plate should have easily done what his #100 did. But upon further inspection when they took out the #100 the boost signal line got damaged some how, the whole thing left them and me scrathing our heads. Gutted the AFC (removed the lever) thing REALLY came to life. Inshort check your AFC signal line that my be the culprit. For how to details check with got...DIESEL?

the hammer
the hammer looking thing is what controls the amount of fuel at low boost, with it out itll be more fuel bottom end, did you install the elbow for the wastegate with the plate, if so you could try and tighten down the adjustable screw on top and would delay your wastegate from opening to soon, this would build more boost for you or you could just take the rubber hose off and plug it and this would disable the wastegate all together allowing all boost and no wastegate but this could also smoke your turbo with out watching boost pressures if you over spool it
