Question P7100 cam question

I have a miss around 1100 rpm and the boys at BD said I needed a new injection pump. I don't like this option , is it possible to get a new cam put in to correct the problem, or is it not possible. If that would correct the problem how much $ would I be looking at?

If the miss is only at 1100 rpm and goes away it doesn't sound to be a stuck plunger or balance problem
94 & 95 year pumps are known for off idle stumble. You can open the governor spring access and try tightening them a click or two. This may help.
A buddy of mine had this problem with his 94. We installed 3k GSK and it helped, but was still off. He opened it and tightened the springs a click and it cleaned up the stumble.

I'm not saying you don't need a new pump ( unlikely though) but
IMO the first thing you should do is steer away from them guys at BD.
The list of friends and people I know that they have taken to the cleaners by them lately is unbelievable. If you want some straight up advice contact the boys at PDR in Port Kells. A second opinion is always a good idea anyways.

I recently had the same problem. Pretty bad miss at around 1k-1100rpm. I put a new lift pump on after I checked my fuel pressure, and its smooth as butter now Id check the fuel pressure. Replace the overflow valve if that has never been done. Then go with the lift pump.
