overflow valve replacement
I ordered a new overflow valve and it is a little different than my old one. The new one has a visible hole on top and you can see a steel ball inside. the old one is just a raised metal top. can i remove the top from one and screw into the other? Will this thing leak out of the top? 1995 12 valve just replaced the lift pump, Pre-heater screen, valve cover gaskets and slid my #6 fuel plate all way forward. Drives real nice now.

Got mine off ebay where everyone I know gets them! Genuine Bosch, and its adjustable, so you can turn up the power! When my Diesel Mech did my KDP he installed it, no hole on the top, hope yours is not from China to munch of that trash around. Grumpy John 4X4

The type you bought off ebay is the new style Bosch, made in Brazil I think.
The old style that you can take apart and stretch was superseded by the new style at least five years ago.
Only way you can get the old style is if someone has old stock on hand.

Just got an "old style " one of a different Ebay guy, as I think my first replacement valve was faulty. This one has the bolt on top of a bolt design and is part # 417 413 101 not # 417 413 047 like the one I got three weeks ago from the other E- bay guy. I think he has more.
