Overflow valve and lift pump

Overflow valve and lift pump
A while back I bought a spare overflow valve and lift pump, when my fuel system was making a ticking noise. It turned out that it was just a dirty fuel filter resulting from my hunt for cheaper fuel at a station I had not used before (they've since gone out of business).
Anyhow, I was wondering if you need a copper O-ring when replacing the overflow valve (although the Cummins parts man did not offer to sell one). When it comes to changing it is it just a matter of unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in?
The lift pump came with only one gasket-- do I need a second one for the pump mounting block as well?

re-use the old crush washer on the overflow valve.
One gasket for the lift pump. Use studs instead of the bolts and it will save a lot of swearing. Take out the starter and go at it from underneath.
Some folks take the tire and the plastic molded mud gard off to reach it. Too much extra work if you ask me.
