Over Flow Valve Question
I just went to Cummins and bought a new over flow valve and gaskets. Seems to me that others have said the valve wasn't very expensive. Is $85.84 cheap? The gaskets were only $.78 so that was nothing to be concerned about. On another note, I bought a 5 gallon pail of Valvoline Premium Blue 15w40 for $8.18 per gallon. I also picked up a Fleetgard oil filter and the total to get out of there was $145.93 (with tax of course). I was somewhat surprized by the price of the valve. Now all I need to do is figure out how to do the work on my truck since I don't have much use of my right arm yet and my wife hollars at me when I try to do things like that.

Re:Over Flow Valve Question
Not a bad deal on the oil if that makes you feel any better. If you bought the oil from Cummins, can you give me a part number?
Also when changing the overflow valve, make sure you take a big rag or towel and stuff it between the pump and the block. If a washer or something falls while changing the valve it will go to never never land. It's easy to change and even easier to lose parts.
Another idea with the arm, have you wife help!!! ;DGood luck, Kevin

Re:Over Flow Valve Question
Kevin the part number for the oil is #3377363-5. I think the -5 just says that it is a five gallon container. I thought it was a decent price for the oil. They told me that a 5 gallon pail was cheaper than the one gallon jugs. The filter was only $7.45 so I didn't think that was too bad either. In case you are wondering it is a fleetgard #LF3959
