My dads' 97 3500 has devoloped an oil leak from the front of the motor. He says it really only leaks under load. He said it lost about 2 quarts in 200 miles, his whole undercarriage is covered in oil. What could cause this. He cant tell where the oil is coming from. My first though is the KDP. Would that cause an oil leak like that? Thanks for any help.

 

yup look at the timing case at the fan hub real close

 

Time to wash it down...Drive it and you will find the leak...Could be a front crank seal,pan gasket etc...
