I was on I-5 this weekend and my oil pressure was jumping from zero to normal in a very strange way. I would have pulled over and had it towed home but everything looked good. I figured it was the sending unit since the dummy switch light never came on. I even had the oil changed with no difference. Any thoughts? Its a 96 with 220k, 5sp. . .

 

I would say the sending unit is shot. Mine went bad at around 170,000 miles. It would go from normal to none then bounce back up erratically. They are very easy to change and most local parts stores have them instock.
