OK scored a '94 for $1000......now what?
Question for the guys out there tonight.............
Just scored a '94 12valver truck, higher mileage (400,000 kilometers) p7100......
Now what would be the best plan of attack.......> Rob the P-pump and conversion parts for my '98 24v.........OR put the '94 on a stand in the garage, overhaul it, juice it up..........and complete swap the engine?
Pro's & Con's..........this truck is leaning for all out power.
I pickup the truck tommorrow

I would hold off on the p-pump conversion for a later model pump. you can find a used one pretty cheap.I think you would be alot happier.Rebuild the 94 and play with use it as a toy have some fun. Thats what I would do.I have a 887 pump off of a 98 automatic. If you are interested pm me and give me a couple of days to get back to you.

Personally I would put the P-pump on the 24v because the 24v head flows alot more air than the 12v. I do think I would choose a different pump or have your current one modified because that pump is not going to make as much power as you sound like you want.

I know the 160 pump won't do what I need stock.......that will be rectified. but for the price I couldn't let this '94 go.
I was debateing the complete 12v swap or 24v p-pump conversion................

You could give me all the components to do the p-pump conversion, you don't need them!
Is the truck a 4x4? If so, whats the plan for the rest of the truck? My sisters truck could use a D60/70 and a 241 T-case.

Its a 2wd stick chassis with no front clip............not a great drag machine. I'm not useing the '94 chassis for anything. I'm robbing the drivetrain, and any other good parts.
I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate the 12v p-pump into my truck................. AND my 24v is a 53 BLOCK. I'm leaning towards swapping the whole 12v into the '98 and swapping a 887 or 913 pump into it with fuelmods. I'm likeing that idea more and more. less hassle, cheaper more reliable transfer pump. while the 12valve in on a stand in the garage, I can pickup a 12v PDR ported head o-ringd. get the studs ready. overhaul the short block, I thinkI'd have something more stout and more reliable than a '98 p-pumpd 53 block engine.
Is it possible to just straight swap a 887 or 913 pump for the 160hp pump thats on their now? I don't see why I couldn't but maybe theres something I'm overlooking?
I pick it up in a few hours anyways.

If you're gonna do a big build up, why not just fire the 160 pump off to Piers of Scheids and have them build you a big pump for you? Piers starts off with 160 pumps anway, since there aren't a whole lot of parts reused.

Is there anything wrong with the frame? Or did it just wreck the front part of the sheet metal? That looks too good to just tear apart! Where did you find suck a sweet deal? If you find a cheap 97 or 98 12v reg cab dually, let me know!
BTW, when you pul the engine out, could you get me some pics of all the bracketry on the side of the pump? Would be handy to have for when I start medalling with my pump conversion.
