NV4500 3rd gear sticks
Just put a new tranny in my truck about 2000 miles ago. I got it from Blumenthals, rebuilt with the 1 3/8" shaft and put the 3250 sprung hub from SBC in it.
But anyways, I was getting onto the tollway yesterday when some guy in a z28 tried to cut in and pass me on the shoulder, I let him have it.
Now the trans. when shifting from 3rd to 4th has a what I would call a stick to it. It takes a good pull to shift from 3rd to 4th.
Now, this only seems to happen every once and a while. It seems to happen more when the truck is fully warmed up.
I drove her today a good 150 miles to and from work, and it seems to only do this Id say once out of every 3 shifts.
Anyone have any ideas?
Sometimes I wish I bought an auto.

Hey, no worries, glad to help!
I didn't see where you did any research with Blumenthals and since the tranny has only 2000 miles on it you would think that the warranty would deal with it if it is such a problem.
By the way, what did they say?

No harder than any other time.
Drove it for a while yesterday thrugh alot of stop and go, and it seems like it only happens once and a while.
It shifts through the gears fine when the truck is off without engaging the clutch.

know it doesn't help, but mine has a funny shift thing as well, mine happens in 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th(sometimes). I will be servicing the fluids here soon-kinda hoping this will help. Also, I know mine does no like to have the gears "floated". I have friends that can float the gears really good-not mine.Chuck

What do you mean by "floated"? If its the same as clutchless shifting, I dont do that, heard to many people say not to.
I am going to call Blumenthals in the morning. I hope its something easy like a fluid change.
