No cruising!!

How do you troubleshoot the cruise control. The green light lights up but no action. The sending unit is hooked up on the transfer case. 97 1T CTD 4X4 5 spd.

Re:No cruising!!

THE HOSE GOING UNDER THE BATTERY BOX HAS PROBABLY GOTTEN ACID ON IT AND DEVELOPED A HOLE SO IT WILL NOT HOLD A VACCUM.

Re:No cruising!!

I have the same problem except the acid got on the actual cruise control. So I have to replace the whole thing now. And if anyone knows of a cruise control. Let me know.

Re:No cruising!!

The battery acid eating the plastic Vaccum line seems to be a common problem. Did it on both of my 95's.

Re:No cruising!!

When my speed sensor went out, my cruise control quit working. Just something else to think about.
