no 4WD light?

I think the switch is when the slider , slides in the front axle. When mine didnt light, (even with the transfer case in) it still wasnt in 4wd. Mine was a damaged vacuum line. If you had the trans out, you probably didnt plug something back in that goes to the front axle (pass side). I think the vacumm signal comes from a actuator at the transfer case, cause I remeber the line running across the crossmember I think.

Also look on the ride side of the frame up were the surp belt is. I had a belt come to pieces and the 4wd light wires on the side of the frame were cut by that belt. This was on my very first CTD, 97'.
