New PS pump noisy
Hey fellas,
Well, fri am i got in my truck only to find my ps and brakes not working. So i did some research to find that the PS pump was probly the culprit.
Sat i replaced the pump with a reman from napa. I noticed it made a bit of noise while test driving after pump replacement. So when i dropped off the old pump i asked the guy at napa about the noise and he said wait a few days to allow for some break-in and see if it stops. I have driven it around for about 100 mi now and it is noisy around 1200-1400 rpms when im turning the wheel and/or on the brakes. Is this normal? Im thinking maybe i should add some lucas PS fluid additive, but i also dont think this should be required for a new pump?
Fluid level has been checked multiple times, no foam, up to level. I also noticed the PS lines going in/out of the brake booster are hot to the touch. Normal?
What are your thoughts on this? TIA -Jake
