You know, that area looks brand new. That is, a newly installed gasket on a very clean surface. The truck has 159,460 miles on it. Makes me wonder.

TJ

The only way to tell Is ask the owner that had it before you...or tear into it and see if it has a blocking screw or take the cover off to see if it has a lock tab over it... :-[

Well ****. Thats not possible. Dealer bought.
Carfax said last gut did 100,000 miles in two years.

Why else would that area have been accessed and newly gasketed? Not really sure as to the engines parts locations. I would hate to go through all of the disassembly for nothing. I'm not particularly mechanically inclined.....Electrical stuff I'm a whiz. I am currious to know how many miles people typically go before this "situation" arises?

Thanks to all my new homies for the responses!!

97Dually:

Welcome to the website!!

The other members have already given you very good
advice. If you have any doubt about the KDP, I would
suggest having it checked by someone or do the
procedure yourself.

One of our members (Rammin On) has done ALOT
of them, (including mine) and I know he would
be glad to help you out! Just "P.M." him and he
will call you or you could call him!

Good luck, and again, Welcome Aboard!

-------
John_P

One of the forman at work has a 97 that is pouring oil and he says " where is all that comming from"? I told him and he looked the time up in the book for the fix. 42 hours. He had a fit. I fixed my 96 and a lot more peace. ;D.

..Preston..
