Just swapped out my auto tranny in my 95 12V. Speedometer in the auto was driven by a speed sensor in the transfer case and the nv5600 and transfer case I had to use came from a 2001 and was driven by a sensor in the rear end. How do I make my speedometer work? I can't seem to get a gear to fit on the output shaft of the new case and swapping rear ends messes w/ the abs module. Any solutions or ides?

 

I used my 98 transfer case, on my 5600.....so I just plugged my speedo in to its original location.

 

Did you have to change output shafts in your transfercase or did it just work w/out any help. I was told that transfercase would not work. I guess yours was a auto also.

 

The 47Rx output shaft is smaller than the manual trans versions, so you'll need to swap the input gear collar\shaft from an NV4500 or NV5600 DHD xfercase to use your original case with speedo output - may also be possible to swap tailshafts and housings to get the speedo drive - otherwise, someone will have to kludge a circuit for your ABS module that will supply the speedo signal

 

Going today to pick up my old transfer case w/ it's new in-put shaft to put on my 5600 so the speedo and cruise will work again. Then the swap will be complete. I have been using it w/ the 01 case, and short of no speedo, the truck is great.
