Got a '97 12v (mods listed in sig) that is a bit more fueled than it needs to be, especially under part throttle. I believe it would benefit from the AFC modification, and perhaps some other tweaking (adjust fuel plate & smoke screw). Used to have a great local mechanic, but he has now moved out of the area and don't have a diesel mechanic that knows these 12v motors.

I am located near Modesto, and am looking for a good, reasonably priced mechanic in the Northern/Central CA area (pro or shadetree) to help adjust the fueling on my truck.

This truck will be busy hauling fruit all over the Bay Area starting in May, and I would like to get it dialed before then.

Can any of you guys recommend a shop or mechanic? Don't really have the time or motivation to attempt this myself.

Wow, wish I had a shop like that in our area. The trek is a bit far (<3 hrs each way) from the Modesto area, so I'd like to find someone a little closer (within 1.5 hrs, including Sacramento, Fresno, & Bay Area).

Any other recommendations?
