OK. I've modified my AFC per Kbbt's write-up adjusted the star wheel (5 turns back) and smoke screw (2 turns in) AFC housing and fuel plate full forward . My truck still lags below 2200 rpm then kicks in. Boost to 30#. I get about a bushel of black smoke when I stomp on it. Any suggestions?

Tighten the afc some. Too much down low will put the fire out and cause the symptoms you're describing. If you're only seeing 30psi at WOT, I would start with tightening the starwheel a few turns and bring the smoke screw out a turn or so. You just want enough fuel to light the charger, not enought to turn day to night For an experiment, try rolling into the throttle instead of mashing it. If it lights faster, you know you're on the right track in tightening the afc.

Ditto on not turning day to night with black smoke. The wacko-enviromentalists who currently control Guv'mint will just make more draconian rules the more smoke they see us make.
