It's been awhile, but you might want to give Marty Tompkins from Precision Diesel in Mason, Michigan a call.
I know it is a ways from you, but he has always been willing to talk "diesels" on the phone and give advice. He may know of a good shop closer to you.
FYI, he also has good prices on fuel pumps, overflow valves, injectors, etc. He has no problem shipping parts as well. Good luck, KD
