Need to do exhaust upgrade
I have 2 95 3500's mine and my girl friends...I travel alot with my truck so I need a muffler...this is what Ive been thinking of doing removing the CAT and puttin a straight thur flow muffler on...Does anyone know of a cheap vendor that has a straight thur pipe from the down tube and a muffler that would be a bolt up to the other stock exhaust pipes...I would prefer a complete kit with hangers and clamps
After I do my truck if my lady likes the sound she wants her truck done too
Sorry I posted This In The Wrong Section Please Move To The 12v Section

DC part # 52019170AB ..... yank the cat and install this test pipe.

The test pipe will take care of the cat issue, but does not address the issue of wanting a straight thru muffler. Many folks praise the Allied muffler Rip uses on his exhaust systems. When I talked to Rip the Allied muffler was about $90 plus shipping. The test pipe runs about $50 range from your friendly ******* or you can purchase it from Wildcat Diesel for cheaper

Re:Need to do exhaust upgrade
I pulled the cat and muffler on mine and the only thing I had to buy were 4-3" clamps, 2-3" couplers, and about 5 feet of 3" exhaust pipe. Now to answer your question, summit racing sells a Dynomax 3" bullet race muffler (WLK-24219) for about $36.00. It is 23 1/2 inches long. If you bolt the muffler right to the downpipe of the turbo and put a piece of 3" pipe from there to the stock tailpipe with a 3" coupler you should be all set. Just get your self a couple of 3" clamps. This is what I plan to do with mine, I want to go to a 4" system but my stock clutch is not holding the power so I need to get a South Bend first. I am getting a little tired of the straight pipe and if they hassle me when I go for inspection (no emissions inspection in my county) about the noise I'll put that dynomax muffler on it. BTW I didn't need any hanger changes with mine, I used the stock clamp/hanger combo that goes around the 4" piece between the cat and stock mufler and put a couple of spacers on it so it would tighten around the 3" pipe. I left the rest of the muffler hangers off since the new exhaust is so light it doesn't need as many hangers. You cannot tell the exhaust is modified if you are looking from the back or side, unless that sweet CTD is singing to you!!
