Napa Brand Oil

Napa Brand Oil
Went to NAPA to get some oil for the Wife's gassser and was told that their brand oil is bottled by Valvoline. That brand is the oil I use in my truck as well and was wondering if anyone used the NAPA brand diesel oil and if there were any reasons why not to.

I went to a car quest and they didn't have the oil that I used in my truck which was valvoline the guy told me it was the same stuff. He said he even got a case of carquest oil in one time that had a few bottles with the valvoline label on them. Hope it helps

I sitll work at NAPA and they do own Valvoline. All of our NAPA oil comes from Ashland, Ky as stated above, from what we assume is the same plant as Valvoline. I run NAPA oil in everything we own with no problems ever. I have used the NAPA 15W40 in my truck before with no problems, but the last time I changed oil I put in Rotella. I noticed no difference at all.

Welcome to the real world of repackaging. One company makes oil for many different brands. Do you thing Wally World has it's own oil manufacturing plant? Now the problem with packaging for different labels. Sometimes the oil company takes same oil and puts in different colored container. Sometimes thay change the formula slightly for the other brand and sometimes they just make it cheaper to hit a cost restriction. Anyone that knows is not going to say which method is used with absolute certainity. So maybe the NAPA is exactlly the same as Valovine, maybe it is just a little different, and perhaps it is GOLD or perhaps near sludge. My recomendation is stick to the real name brands in the industry and have a EOA done occasionally.
