I just did a fairly extensive search for mystery switch instructions and I haven't seen my problem mentioned. I installed the basic mystery switch in my '96 (not the one using 3 relays...that was going to be next after testing the basic version) and when i tried using it, the TC locked up just like its supposed to...but then it wouldn't UNLOCK! The OD switch also didn't work. I had to put the truck in neutral and stop, and replace the relay (and unhook a wire from the switch so I wouldn't accidentally turn it on).

I have seen some mention of possibly needing the PCM flashed by the dealer, but I didn't see anything about what the problem would be if it hasn't been flashed...is this my problem?

I want to get this fixed...I really liked the switch while I was running it...it it would just unlock when I shut the switch off...

Well I kept hunting, and just after I posted this I found out that it IS because my truck hasn't been flashed. O.K., next question...how much should flashing the PCM cost? Local dealer gets in the neighborhood of $250. I was just wondering if I would be better off driving south to another dealer, or if this is close to standard pricing. I think its pretty high for 5 minutes with a DRB, but they get %$85 just to read codes without doing anything!
