More power

More power
I had no Idea how much power I had lost over the years . This weekend was truck maint. time because I'm going out of town next weekend. So heres what I did.
Changed the engine oil and filter, tranny and t-case fluid, fuel filter, fuel pre filter, overflow valve, and the rubber fuel hoses from the metal lines on the frame to the ones on the injection pump.
I know the fluid changes didn't do much, but really needed to be done, however the stuff to the fuel system made an incredible difference. Once all that was done I took it out for a drive to see if I could tell a difference and I was very plesantly suprised . My truck had to have gained 50hp. I know that sounds hard to believe but it feels like a new truck. Much more responsive, tons more bottom end, pulls much harder all the way to redline (instead of petering out at 2600rpm), Lost the midrange sputter/miss and I expect it will pick up some MPG also .
So I guess the lesson here is it pays to check out little stuff even if you think it may be ok, and for those that think they may be down on power some and haven't checked some of these items you might look into them.
Just thought I would share some good news

I know the feeling. I replaced my injectors and overflow valve this weekend and went for a test drive. Blew a leak in the rubber lines when I pulled in the driveway The lines looked good from the top. New ones on the way. Truck ran way stronger till then.
