what is the max safest EGT's for say a quick run like a 1/4 mile. I know 1250 is suppose to be safe for longer times, like a steep hill grade.

 

1400-1500 is not bad in short burst or until you get down the track.

I just pulled a 1.5 mile 6% grade hill yesterday and today with 1450*-1550* egt's. Probably not the smartest thing, but its not the first time. Ive seen my egt's the same when racing. I have gone as high as 1750*, only to see how hot it would get though. Good thing I got a bigger turbo coming now.

 

dude thems is high numbers what were your rpms at that temp? how big was the load?

 

my trailer weighs 4,300 lbs. I was drivin 75 mph which is 1800 rpms on my truck goin up the hill. I can pin the pedal down fron a dead stop and get 1500 1700* in NO TIME FLAT. Stock turbo and ive been driving it like that for the last 5 months. Still goin strong.......... suprisingly.

 

that could be the prob. to me thats lugging at those R's but as long its goin cant complain.
