I think I know what your talking about, I was told heavy fueling and lots of timing. How much of either I don't know, but it's a awesome sound.

Set a 4k GSK loose, it will lope. Or install large (.120) SS fuel lines, that will also work. Or, buy my 95, ever since I put the DDP's in, it's had a crazy lope. Can't figure it out yet, it's still stock timing.

Hmmm...make a truck lope. Sounds cool. What does it mean for a truck to "lope" though??

HOw loose?

one click? will it still rev right tho? Mines at a point where one click more or one click less, and it will drop randomly to 300 rpms for idle.... hence why im afraid to move it

I've been told one, up to a couple clicks, then bump the idle up with the idle screw on the pump. On another forum, a guy was asking about making his stock springs lope, and a couple people mentioned the 4K being set loose. Set loose, the idle's funky, but they will still rev to 3800+.

When I put the 4K's in my 97, it wouldn't idle at all, no matter what I did with it. I have since sold them to a buddy of mine, he hasn't had any problems with them yet. He's got them set dead-on.

My DDP's make it lope too, especially when cold. Warm only if I apply slight throttle and let the clutch drag, slow speed maneuvers.

Lope is the engine idle abruptly changing to maintain a set speed. example, smooth idle and engage the clutch to move ahead, idle drops to about 750 with the load but then starts to jump up to about 800 2 times per second...

Funky idle?

then negative. Im not doin it, i love the sound, but id rather have a dead set gsk. IT took me long enough to get mine to rev to 3800 on free rev. Yes im aware it needs adjustin but it runs so well right now...

I think I've read that larger injector lines will make it sound like you want as well. Lower fuel velocity.
Or, I could be way off.

.120's aint going to make it lope alot. AG governers make them do this and the lope can be adjusted out of the AG govs to a certin extent.

mine had a good lope for a few days, I found out the washer bottle had fell off its mount on the radiator shroud and was leaning up against the throttle cable and bouncing on it making it lope pretty good.

on the other hand mine lopes for about a minute on startup when cold, not sure it could be my washers I put into the governor

But they will make it lope.

TxDiesel007: in saying 'funky', i mean the lopey idle. My buddy and I loosened his 4K's last night, just to see it what it does. It dropped the idle down to about 400 rpm, we bumped it back up with the idle screw, and took if for a run. It didn't affect the driveability or the rev capability, but would rock the truck gently while waiting at a light etc. I'd suspect an auto truck would be easier to get to do it with the constant load applied by the torque converter in the same situation.

BTW, it's supposed to be -10F tonight, and will for sure cause my truck lope good tomorrow. I will try to get a vid of it. It's a very gentle rocking while holding the brakes at an intersection. Then I will get a vid of the violent shaking once it's off idle and stuttering.
