Low Boost?

On my 12-valve with a No 8 plate and a boost elbow, I get about 24 psi of boost under full acceleration at wide open throttle, with the EGTs at about 1100*. Is this normal, for my truck? I unplugged the wastegate hose and plugged it, and I got exactly the same boost. I've reading about guys that get 30-35 psi of boost, any ideas why mine is so low? Even when the truck was stock I was only getting 12 psi at wide open throttle. Thanks.

If no black smoke(short duration on WOT), double check that the fuel plate is not slid back too far, if you have black smoke you could have shot exhaust gaskets, causing the low boost pressure.

Thanks for the reply. The fuel plate is in stock position and the AFC housing is full forward, the starwheel is about in the middle. Yes I get a puff of black smoke when I floor the throttle, after that it clears up (which is what I like, don't want too much black smoke). I've looked around for an exhaust leak, but I don't have any black spots around the gaskets, and I don't feel any leaks. Turbo seems fine, it turns freely and I can hear it whine when it spools up. So my problem is not enough fuel, maybe I should try a 100 plate?

Before you go thruogh the extra $$ try sliding the fuel plate forward 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch. you will get more fuel if the plate is what is stopping your fuel.
