loud screech - throw out bearing?
Here's my problem, well one of them...My truck is making a loud screeching sound when the clutch is under load. It sounds like drilling into steel. As I said it only happens when the clutch is engaged and under load - so either holding on a downhill or increasing speed in any gear. I'm currently at 245rwhp and my clutch has been slipping when I stand on it. Any ideas on what it could be? Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks all,
rg

My guess is, the lining on one, or more of the buttons on the clutch disc is no more. Probably hearing the rivets grinding away. Bye-bye good pressure plate and flywheel surfaces. I'd be making a call to Peter at South Bend Clutch.
Went through that on a farm tractor. Some idiot borrowed it, and used it to pull a disc, and didn't know when to quit. Looked like a bunch of grass in the bottom of the clutch housing. Pressure plate and flywheel were heat checked, cracks, and bluing from the heat. The rivets were loose on the disc hub.

If your rpm's are going up faster than the speed and under heavy throttle, it may be the clutch. If the rpm's are steady with the speed, you may be hearing the turbo or an air leak on one of the inner cooler boots. Have you checked your bell housing bolts lately?
