LOST temp gauge

LOST temp gauge

I lost a coolant hose yesterday. After replacing the water and such the temp gauge wont work. Any ideas why it doesnt?

Perhaps system not fully purged of air? Sensor disconnected or wire broke during repairs?

I'l check both but didnt go into that area. I was behind the alternator fixing the little stub hose. Maybe a purge might help. I'll give it a shot
