I've got a fuel leak. I believe it's coming out of a small hole on the lift pump, on the front side of the pump housing. Is this a weep hole of sorts? I've read before something about an o ring replacement on the plunger of the hand pump? My searches have not returned what I'm looking for. If I 'm on the right track, does anyone have some insight on getting the pump plunger out of the housing, and what size o ring it is?

 

From what I understand, once it's leaking from the weep hole, it's time to replace it. It weeps diesel out, instead of in, and into the engine oil. Not sure if they can be rebuilt or not.

 

I talked a little while with a Cummins service manager. He said he thought there was a rebuild kit, but wasnt sure. I figured SOMEBODY would have had one of these go out, or leak, or something. I'm not complaining though. It's got 135,000 on it

 

Sure they go out, no rebuild kit though.
Most auto parts stores can get you one, around $125

 

bought one about 2 hrs. ago from cummins cost me $201 & some change for the pump & gasket, a little pricey, but I have to have the truck going on monday, so had to take what I could get on short notice.
