Lets talk manual transmissions

I am starting to have problems with my NV4500 i lost 2nd gear syncro and 5th gear is making a nasty noise and its rather audible and anoying. it was supost to be rebuilt before i got the truck by the owner and so was the motor and i had to swap in a new motor so im not really trusting the guys knowledge of rebuilding things. i was checkin out some vids on you tube and i found a 80's chevy with a 12v and a eaton fuller 10spd. i think it would be pretty fun to be rowin 10 gears. what r ur guys thought about the 10spd? does anyone personally know a truck with this trans behind a 5.9? i do alot of trailer pullin so whats the durabillity like? any thoughts or opinions would be great. thank you

I don't know what it would take to do the swap.....but I have driven alot 0f 10 speeds in big rigs and they are probably one of the most widely used trans out there..very dependable and durable

he wants another tranny that wont break, not a band aid 6 speed, use the search here and on some other forums, its been done before and isnt that hard

but if you want to keep 4x4 your going to have to find a new divorced transfer case (np205)

Orange, check it out, that should be the link to take him FROM the NV5600 to the Fuller.

I am blocked at work so I cannot verify it is the correct one.

One things is for certain, http://www.sanco-bg.com has a conversion to a fuller 6 or 7 speed on there.
