Leaky leaky

I think my rubbers have worn out. Time to Call larryB.. I have a fuel leak (ha I bet you all though antifreeze) Anyways the leak is running down the bellhousing on the drivers side and going drip drip drip.. I assume its the rubber lines. I have never put on a set and at 211K it probably time eh? Could it be anything else?

reach above the tranny it usally the one above it and you should be able to feel a wet spot on top of the tranny. Good luck with the return line.

Sometimes the metal lines on top of the bell housing crack where the hold down tab is welded to them.
In fact it happens enough that I no longer replace just the short hoses but rather abandon the entire stock fuel delivery system and run hose all the way from the engine to the tank. It's also easier even though it costs more in hose.

I use Trident #365 marine USCG approved hose. It's much heavier duty than the stock hose and should last the life of the engine.

Can you elaborate a little more on how this is done? Thanks

Just bypass the stock metal fuel lines. Leave them in place (after plugging them) in case you ever want/need to switch back. Then run the new fuel hose from tank to the fuel filter

How do you adapt to the lines going into the pickup? There appears to be some sort of quick conect type fittings,if it's possible I would like to illiminate all the factory weak points in the fuel lines and pick up.Can that line be bought directly from that company??Again sorry about the hijacking of your thread it's just a good topic that I have to put to bed.Oh I forgot to mention I will be running Biodiesel soon will this hose hold up??

You just remove the quick connect from the lines that are part of the fuel tank module and hose clamp the new hose to them. I use two clamps just to be on the safe side. The engine end connects the same way the short lines did. Make sure to leave a little slack in the hose near the engine to allow for movement. If you want run the fuel hose though some plastic electrical loom to protect it, but with the Trident hose it probably isn't necessary, the stuff is very heavy duty and resistant to biodiesel.

Many marine shops carry it. I buy it from these guys http://www.houseofhose.com/ mainly because they are close by me. You should be able to find a hose supplier closer to you.

When I did mine the supply was 3/8" and the return was 5/16" but I bought a roll of 3/8" and used it for both. It works but was loose on the return side. I used two clamps on each connection just to be safe.
