Thanks to this Forum I leared about the KDP before anything happened. I took my 98 12 CTD to City Diesel in Decatur, AL. I had printed off the instructions for the fix posted here. They understood and for about 2 hours in labor charges, tabbed the KDP. It had not begun to back out at 152K miles.<br><br>While we had the bad boy stripped down they also timed it and adjusted valves AND installed a 30-40HP torque plate. My only question is &quot;Why did I wait so long??&quot;<br><br>On the way home with the 98, driven by my pard who has driven it extensively lately, as in a Alabama-Colorado-Alabama trip. I was driving the 03 SO 250 3500 dually. I noticed my pard seemed to keep up with my passing moves a lot better. The proof came when we hit the mountain on a 4 lane stretch.<br><br>By arrangement, we both put the hammer down.......the 98 left the 03 in the dust and black smoke!!! I am amazed at the difiference, especially from about 60MPH and up. It is like having another passing gear or turbo. I am still checking mileage.<br><br>Now I am interested in boosting the 03 just a tad so it can keep up with the 98. ;D<br><br>
