Installed TPS wrong?
I bought a new TPS b/c I think my old on was bad. I was getting TC lock up, but shift points just seemed bad. Tranny was gone through and everything was fine. But after I put the new TPS on it shifts much smoother but I don't get any TC lock up unless I use my switch. Is it possible that I installed the sensor wrong? The sensor I bought from Napa had two hole in it with metal sleeves on the inside and two without, due to the bracket that goes over the sensor I was only able to get that bracket in the holes without the metal. Is that my problem? Or in which direction should the plug part of the TPS face after install?

Plug should face 45 degrees between down and to the rear of the truck. About the 4:30 position on the clock looking at it from the driver side.
Could your throttle linkage have alot of wear or could someone have changed the linkage adjustment between the TPS and the IP?

Check your voltages.

It could have. I had to bump my idle up before I changed out the TPS and now it seems to idle a bit higher after the install and I also adjusted the cable that is on or near the throttle line that changes shift points.
When I installed it should I have just put it at the 430 position or do I need to start it at the bottom and twist it toward the 430 position since it is spring loaded?
