Installed head, 4K and set valves and now...

Got everything back together. Truck is running great. Except I noticed on thing when I tried to bring the rpms up in neutral with no load. My 3K spring kit used to rev right at 3100 rpms with no load. My 4K will hang up around 2700 then sputters then it tries to rev a little more. Truck revs to 3K when under load with no problems... Could I still have my valves out of adjustment? Or is it something with the 4K kit?

Thanks..

Thanks for the reply Ds. When I installed my 4K from the 3K was there any to know exactly where they should have been with a caliper? I had both springs with the highest reading at .147-.148. So I know both springs are right on the money and very close to each other... Thanks for the info Ds....

Ok, I clicked both springs two more times. It helped a little but truck still starts to cut out around 3100. I put my #8 plate back after installing my head gasket. Is it possible I am not getting enough fuel after 3K? What RPMS should a 4K fuel
to?

I am still leaning towards my valve adjustment from the head gasket replacement might be a little off.....

Thanks.....

Maybe check the timing? Maybe it slipped?

Sounds like timing to me. If it takes the higher rpm's, with just enough throttle to get there, but won't take the higher rpm's with more fuel & starts sputtering, check your timing. It takes more advance to go with big fuel & lots of rpm's

Thanks guys for the help.... My internet was down for two days.... Anyway.... I think my issue is my delivery valves. I have 80 HP injectors and the stock DV's are not fueling enough in the higher RPM range. Truck is running excellent until 3K. Tons of power and revs to 3K really fast. I am going to try some lager DV's and report back.....
